Follow-up album confirmed
for February 2010
Gregory Darling’s album "Stew Americano" is to be released 15 February 2010 through FOD Records and was preceded by the single "Kiss The Pain". The single was premiered on BBC Radio’s 2’s Wogan show and had great support elsewhere including Jonathan Ross’ radio show. Featuring a selection of great tracks in the classic Pop Rock vein, the "Stew Americano" album showcases Darling’s soulful, measured lyrics over melodic piano and strings.
"Stew Americano" is a potent blend of virtuosity and passion, with an emphasis on proper songwriting. The album boasts a host of great musicians, including Portishead’s Clive Deamer, Joe Puerta the bassist from Alan Parsons Project and guitarist Dani Robinson from Darling’s first band, cult favourites Darling Cruel. Recorded at the historic Wisseloord Studios in Amsterdam (Elton John, Mick Jagger, U2 etc) this is a superb collection from an artist truly hitting his stride.
"Stew Americano" is Darling’s second solo release and his debut album "Shell" has enjoyed great sales and airplay success in Europe (Top 10 in Italy and Germany with a release in the States slated for January 2010). Darling has toured extensively in Europe as Bryan Adams’ guest and is best known in the UK for his long-time affiliation with Julian Lennon, both as writing partner and as part of the band. On this eloquent solo release Darling takes the chance to truly stretch himself creatively.
Gregory Darling has carefully selected the finest ingredients for this album, and has let the creative process happen organically over time, ensuring that this "Stew Americano" is sure to be enjoyed by anyone who has a taste.
