Boom Boom Live at the Diamond 1990: CD & DVD
The Pat Travers Band release the live set “Boom Boom Live at the Diamond 1990” on 21 March 2011 on CD and DVD formats [Cat Nos 0206390ERE and 0206403ERE respectively] via Edel’s international rock label, earMUSIC distributed in the UK & Republic of Ireland by Absolute via Universal. One of rock’s guitarist gurus, Pat Travers branches out in many different ways, places and with many excellent musicians. Travers was playing guitar before he reached his teens, but it was the fascination and magic of a Jimi Hendrix concert that first inspired him to become a rock guitarist ? now he is acclaimed as one of the best hard rock guitarists ever!
“Boom Boom Live at the Diamond 1990” was recorded at the Diamond Club in his hometown, Toronto, Canada. Travers mesmerized the crowd with his biggest and most renown rock-hymn hits like “I La La La Love You”, “Daddy Long Legs”, “Snortin’ Whiskey”, as well as title song “Boom Boom (Out Go The Lights)”. The night was one to remember and is now available to buy for the first time ever. This is an amazing performance from one of the all-time greatest guitar phenomenons. Digitally re-mastered and put into top quality, now is finally the time to re-live the night that made history.

Pat Travers started out playing in clubs around Quebec before being asked by 50’s rock’n’roller, Ronnie Hawkins, to tour with him. Despite the difference in styles, Travers used the experience to learn. Soon after, he moved to London, and started as a solo artist. After signing to Polydor, he released his acclaimed self-titled album in 1976. Pat toured in front of huge audiences and released another two albums before heading to America. He gained a massive following for both his live shows and his studio albums; “Live! Go For What You Know” (1979) and “Crash And Burn” (1980) entered the US top 30. After bowing out of the studio for several years he recorded “School Of Hard Knocks” in 1990, an album that was to prove a huge success amongst his fans and win him many new admirers. The 80’s established him as one of the most distinctive guitarists in the scene, combining heavy metal riffology with moments of musical genius.
