Circle II Circle
Live album features Savatage’s masterpiece“The Wake Of Magellan” almost in its entirety
earMUSIC is delighted to announce the release of Circle II Circle’s first ever live album: “Live At Wacken (Official Bootleg)” on 25 August 2014. This release captures the show by Circle II Circle [the band founded by Savatage’s former lead vocalist Zak Stevens] at the world biggest and craziest heavy metal festival Wacken Open Air in Germany when they played one of Savatage’s most successful albums “The Wake of Magellan” almost in its entirety.
Formed in 2011, Circle II Circle included more and more Savatage material in their live performances peaking at this show at Wacken Open Air 2012; the dynamic of the world famous festival was the perfect place! “The Wake Of Magellan”, one of the last albums that Zak Stevens recorded with Savatage, is considered to be the band‘s best work in the post-1993 Savatage canon.
Narrated by Stevens’ phenomenal voice and framed by deeply emotional and highly expressional
compositions, the album can easily be described as a true rock opera. The combination of bombastic guitar riffs, epic keyboard sounds, and truly majestic vocal parts makes for pure enjoyment for any listener.
Circle II Circle’s live rendering of “The Wake Of Magellan” replicates the passion and atmosphere of the original record has to offer; rather the performance gives it a true intensity.
